Welcome to
Sara Douglas Therapy
Life can feel overwhelming at times - whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, or relationship struggles, you don’t have to face it alone. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can pause, reflect, and begin to reconnect with yourself.
As an integrative therapist based in Liverpool City Centre, I tailor my approach to suit your unique needs - drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, CBT, and coaching methods to support you in a way that feels right.
Let’s talk. I offer a free 20-minute consultation call to see if we’re a good fit and to help you take the first step at your own pace - whether that’s in person, online, or by phone.
My approach
I am a Pluralistic Counsellor. I have trained in a number of different approaches such as Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as the premise of Pluralism is that each client is individual and are
helped by different processes and activities at different times in their lives. This allows us to talk about your past, present and future and how they, potentially, may be impacting you resulting in the difficulties and issues you wish to bring to therapy.
I completed a year of hypnotherapy training before commencing my counselling qualification. This is an effective intervention in treating symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and phobias. It can also be useful in the sessions if you are experiencing difficulty with emotional dysregulation.
I am passionate about working collaboratively and I will provide support and encouragement for you to address the issues you face and to achieve the personal changes you wish to make.
My Background
I completed a degree in Liverpool and commenced a career in hospitality working my way up to a managerial position. Working late nights, early mornings; the sleep deprivation and the pressure of the job resulted in burnout. Personal experience of stress, anxiety, burnout, overwhelm and grief, led me to my personal counselling journey. I understand how a variety of issues and difficulties can impact day to day functioning and relationships and how distressing it can be to feel out of control of your own emotions. Talking therapy can enable emotional regulation and make space to feel calmer and more focused. I understand that starting counselling can be a daunting experience. I am passionate about helping, supporting and encouraging you, and to offer a safe, non-judgemental environment for you to feel comfortable and talk through your life experiences at your own pace.
In-person and remote options
I offer face to face sessions on Castle street in Liverpool City Centre and also can do online or telephone sessions. All my sessions are an hour long and cost £50, I offer a free 20 minute initial phone consultation where we can discuss your therapeutic requirements, any questions you might have about the process, and whether I am the right counsellor for you.
